Due to the expansion of our care services, we are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to support the Finance Manager in the day to day running of the department to ensure that the finance function operates in line with the needs of the business.  You will be the first point of contact for a range of stakeholders and responsible for building relationships with other functions within the company to ensure the needs of the services are met and supported. 


Duties include:

=         Preparation of monthly management accounts and flash reports including journal preparation and posting, ensuring deadlines are met

=         Occupancy accounting, staffing cost variance analysis and departmental gross profit reports including reconciliation of occupancy and additional charges with sales invoicing

=         Maintenance of fixed asset register and monthly depreciation postings

=         Preparation of weekly funds flow reports including daily cash management

=         Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations

=         Regular review and oversight of Sage 50 software utilisation

=         Reviewing and authorising BACS payment runs

=         Assist with preparing the monthly payroll

=         Assist with preparation of year end working papers for draft statutory accounts

=         Budgetary and monthly forecasting support for the Finance Manager including challenging and assisting budget holders

=         Process improvements to support a growing organisation

=         Management of tasking two accounts assistants

=         Support the Finance Manager in the day to day running of the department

=         Producing ad-hoc reports as requested and required by the Finance Manager

=         Contribute or manage internal functional projects as requested by the Finance Manager 


To be considered for this role our ideal candidate will have:

=         CIMA/ACCA qualified with at least 3 years experience

=         Strong initiative with well-developed analytical skills and conceptual thinking

=         Ability to work within a SME where process improvements needs to be identified and implemented recognising the sensitivities of current team members

=         Commercial minded

=         Creativity and ability to embrace change

=         Ability to work under pressure and unassisted

=         Strong influencing skills and ability ‘to bring people with you’  

=         Advanced Excel Skills - essential

=         Advanced Sage 50 Skills - essential
