Residential Support Worker - Carlisle

As a Registered Crisis Intervention Service and Residential Children's Home provider in Cumbria, Northumberland and South Scotland, we provide both short term placements of up to 17 weeks providing a staff ratio of 2:1 through to full residential care for children with EBD.

Day to Day:

  • Working alongside staff teams, provide a high standard of care for the Young People in your charge.
  • To encourage the Young People to participate in outdoor activities.
  • To be alert to signs of distress or abuse to ensure Young People are monitored and protected
  • To assist in the motivation of Young People to take an active part in decision making and be involved in the design and delivery of the service they receive.
  • To ensure record keeping and administration responsibilities of the team are met, including care plans, day sheets, etc.
  • To ensure high standards of safe working practices at all times.

Requirements:

  • Diploma Level 3 qualified in Children and Young People’s workforce (although support to achieve this qualification can be provided)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to work shifts including weekends and evening and sleep ins
  • Knowledge of the National Care Standards
  • To work as part of a team and use own initiative when required

Location

The role will be based from one of our outreach facilities across North Cumbria however due to the structure of our shift patterns and continued expansion, we believe this role is accessible to applicants from across a wider geographical area. Please contact us for further information.
